Lorenz Beringer is the Founder and CEO of LOBECO GmbH since June 2014. Prior to that, they worked at FC Bayern München as the Head of Social Media, CRM, and FCB KidsClub from July 2010 to May 2014. Lorenz also served as the CEO Assistant at Allianz Indonesia for two months in January and February 2010. In 2008, they worked as a Group Market Management Intern at Allianz SE from March to October. Before that, they volunteered for FIFA during the World Cup 2006 in Germany from June to July.
Lorenz Beringer pursued their education in a chronological manner. Lorenz began their academic journey at the University of Bayreuth in 2004, where they obtained their Diploma in Sports and Economics in 2010. In 2006, they took a one-year break from their studies at the University of Bayreuth to attend Università degli Studi di Firenze. During their time there, they focused on Management dello Sport. After completing their studies in Bayreuth, Lorenz Beringer enrolled at the University of St.Gallen in 2012, graduating in 2013 with an Executive MBA in Leadership and Change Management.

Reynold Cheng is a Full Professor of the Division of AI and Data Science, School of Computing and Data Science, the University of Hong Kong (HKU). His research interests are in data science, big graph analytics and uncertain data management. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) from 2005 to 2008. He received his BEng (Computer Engineering) in 1998, and MPhil (Computer Science and Information Systems) in 2000 from HKU. He then obtained his MSc and PhD degrees from Department of Computer Science of Purdue University in 2003 and 2005.

Prof. Cheng received the ACM Distinguished Membership Award and the HKU Outstanding Research Student Supervisor Award in 2023. He was listed as the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University in 2022, as well as the AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar in Database in 2023 and 2024. He received the SIGMOD Research Highlights Reward 2020, HKICT Awards 2021, and HKU Knowledge Exchange Award (Engineering) 2021. He was granted an Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2011-12 by HKU. He received the Universitas 21 Fellowship in 2011, and two Performance Awards from HKPU Computing in 2006 and 2007. He is an academic advisor to the College of Professional and Continuing Education of HKPU. He was formerly the Head of Computer Science Department, Associate Dean of Engineering, and a Deputy Director of the Law and Technology Centre. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, ACM SIGMOD, and UPE. He was a PC co-chair of IEEE ICDE 2021, and has been serving on the program committees and review panels for leading database conferences and journals like SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, KDD, IJCAI, AAAI, and TODS. He is on the editorial board of IS and DAPD, and was a former editorial board member of TKDE.

Mr Xie served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University before joining EICN. As a trained trade economist, his teaching and research mainly focused on the fields of international trade, industrial economics and economic development, with a particular emphasis on China’s economy in a global perspective. He also possesses extensive expertise in the non-profit sector through work experience with think tanks and international organisations, including the Shanghai Institute for National Economy and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he contributed to multiple government counselling projects and policy studies. His work has appeared in leading academic journals as well as major economic policy publications.

Mr Xie has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.A. in International Business from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
