Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

SwissCham, together with the British Chamber, is pleased to invite you to our next C-Level Luncheon, taking place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 12:00 to 14:00 in Beijing.

China's Evolving Role in a Changing Global Landscape

From Control to Confidence – Rethinking the China Business

For many international companies, the question is no longer simply how to manage risks in China, but how to define China's role in their global strategy going forward.

Against a backdrop of geopolitical uncertainty, shifting supply chains, changing market dynamics and increasing pressure on global headquarters, companies are reassessing where to invest, how to compete and what long-term commitment to China should look like.

For this discussion, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Hannes BRAUN, German Desk Director at Forvis Mazars, who advises German and European companies on their China operations; Ms. Cindy CHEUNG, Financial Advisory Partner at Forvis Mazars, who advises companies on M&A, strategy, structuring and valuation in China and across the Asia-Pacific region.

Drawing on his experience working directly with international businesses, Hannes will share his perspective on how companies are adapting their China strategies and where he sees opportunities for moving from a primarily defensive approach toward greater confidence and long-term positioning.

The luncheon will bring together a small group of C-level executives and senior decision-makers for an open exchange around questions including:

• How is China's role within global corporate strategies changing?

• Where are international companies becoming more cautious — and where are they continuing to invest?

• How can companies balance risk management with the need to remain competitive in China?

• What does a credible long-term China strategy look like today?

To allow for a substantive and interactive discussion, participation will be limited.

We look forward to welcoming you for an engaging exchange among senior business leaders.

Best regards,

SwissCham Team
