On behalf of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China (SwissCham), we are thrilled to invite you to Innovation Day: Innovating Transformative Healthcare, hosted by the SwissCham Innovation-Digital-Sustainability (IDS) Committee. This exclusive event will take place on December 3, 2024, in Suzhou, in celebration of Roche Diagnostics Suzhou's 10th Anniversary in China.

As the inaugural edition of SwissCham's Innovation Days series (2025–2026), this event highlights Switzerland's leadership in cutting-edge healthcare innovation and fosters meaningful dialogue between Swiss and Chinese stakeholders. The series will spotlight key sectors—including Medtech, Foodtech, and Watertech—building bridges across upstream, midstream, and downstream players in their respective ecosystems.

Richeal Cline is the Head of Diagnostics Global Operations at Roche Diagnostics, a role she assumed in January 2025. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Global Head of Quality & Regulatory and continues to fulfill this role until a successor is named. In her dual roles, Richeal oversees two vital organizations comprising over 11,000 employees worldwide, managing the sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution of diagnostics solutions as well as quality, regulatory affairs, compliance, and product sustainability.

She is a member of the Roche Diagnostics Leadership Team and is a passionate advocate for driving more equitable access to healthcare solutions around the world.

Richeal began her journey with Roche Diagnostics in 1997 as a Scientist in Branchburg, New Jersey, USA. Over her distinguished career, she has held various leadership positions across research, operations, quality, manufacturing and regulatory affairs. With over 25 years at Roche, Richeal has continuously taken on increasing responsibilities within both the pharma and diagnostics sectors.

Dr. Julia Riedlinger leads RDS R&D Core Lab, overseeing product development and on-market care for Clinical Chemistry, Immunochemistry, Coagulation, and Mass Spectrometry portfolios.

She holds a Pharmacy Degree and a PhD in "Non-viral gene delivery", both from LMU Munich.

Julia joined Roche in 2006 as a Management Start-Up Trainee in Research and Early Development of Diagnostics. She led biomarker identification programs, established a biobank for biomarker discovery and validation across all major disease areas, and was responsible for teams focusing on biobanking as well as on external research collaborations.

In 2017, she moved to the Lifecycle Team as a project lead for reagent development Elecsys, successfully driving projects from start to worldwide registration and launch. In addition she took on the role of the IVDR program lead, initially for one business area, later for the entire Roche Diagnostics portfolio.
In 2021, she returned to R&D as Head of Dia Standards and Interoperability, shaping processes, internal services, digitalization and interoperability across Dia R&D.

Since July 2024, Julia Riedlinger has been leading the R&D for Core Lab, managing over 1000 employees across Germany, Switzerland, Spain and China. She has a broad experience in end-to-end IVD product development and a strong focus on organizational transformation.

In a world where sustainability and innovation are more crucial than ever, Sophia Slingerland is at the forefront of redefining architecture and urban living.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, she set her sights on becoming an architect from an early age, driven by a passion for creative problem-solving. With a master's degree from TU Kaiserslautern and a strong foundation in civil engineering, Slingerland has built a global career that spans working with Renzo Piano in Paris, pioneering Passivehouse projects in California, and found her own studios in Switzerland before settling in Shanghai in 2017.

She started in the city with Ateliers Phi architecture and design company and later founded SHINE Ecological Technology, tackling global water challenges with off-grid, sustainable solutions, while also mentoring, lecturing and advocating for ESG (environmental, social and governance) and green innovation.

Jing WANG has more than 20 year experience in high-performance materials in particular engineering plastics industry. He is currently Head of Consumer for EMS Grivory, responsible for business and market development of consumer products, electronics, and healthcare in Greater China. EMS Grivory is a subsidiary of Swiss company EMS Chemie and is a global leader of high-performance polyamide materials focusing on providing metal-replacement and cost-saving solutions. Prior to current role, he was Head of Application Development for EMS Grivory Asia and earlier he held various R&D and application development positions with multinational chemical companies in China and in Europe. He holds doctorate from University of Toronto and was a graduate of Tsinghua University in China.

Dr. Jun Yang has over 25 years of experience in drug development in both the regulatory agency (US FDA) and the pharmaceutical industry. He specializes in regulatory strategies, clinical development strategies, clinical pharmacology, and PK/PD applications. Dr. Yang obtained his Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences from the Ohio State University. Dr. Yang obtained his Master degree from The University of Tennessee focusing on biostatistical modeling using SAS. Dr. Yang spent two years as a Pharmacometrics fellow at Pfizer-SUNY Buffalo strategic alliance. During his 9-year tenure at the FDA, Dr. Yang reviewed more than 1000 new IND submissions and approved more than 30 NDAs/BLAs as a clinical pharmacology/pharmacometrics reviewer. After leaving the FDA in 2016, Dr. Yang was executive Director and vice president in the pharmaceutical industry, heading the Translational Medicine and Global Regulatory Affairs department. He was the founder and CEO at JP Global Pharma. Dr. Yang has rich experience guiding and advising lean and efficient preclinical and clinical strategies at various RD stages. He also has extensive hands-on experience in PK/PD MS and model-informed drug development (MIDD) using different statistical software. He has helped more than 100 IND/NDA submissions from 2016-2023. Dr. Yang assisted more than 30 pharmaceutical companies in addressing dose optimization for oncology drugs (Project Optimus) from 2020 to 2023.
