Ran Zhang
Central China Research Lead at PwC
Dr. Ran Zhang is the Central China Research Lead at PwC China, where she has established and now leads market and industry research initiatives for the Central China region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. She also serves as an Industry Professor at Jiangnan University, a recognized “211 Project” university.
With over a decade of experience in economic research and industrial development projects, Dr. Zhang specializes in areas including macroeconomic analysis, regional coordinated development, industrial transformation and upgrading, industrial and talent policies, commercialization of research outcomes, and the nurturing environment for specialized and innovative SMEs. She has provided advisory services to various governmental bodies, industrial parks, state-owned enterprises, and multinational corporations in areas such as industrial structure upgrading, industrial policy, market entry, and strategic planning.
Dr. Zhang earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prior to joining PwC, she held positions in several prestigious academic and think-tank institutions, including the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University with Professor Justin Yifu Lin, China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Columbia Business School with Professor Shang-Jin Wei, as well as the University of Michigan.
张冉博士是普华永道中国中区研究部负责人，全面建立并负责中部地区和粤港澳大湾区的市场和行业研究工作，兼任211高校江南大学产业特聘教授。张博士从事经济学研究和相关产业发展项目十余年，专注于宏观经济、区域协调发展、产业转型升级、产业与人才政策、科研成果产业化、专精特新企业培育环境等领域的相关课题，为不同层级的政府机构、产业园区、国有企业、跨国企业提供产业结构升级、产业政策、市场进入、战略规划等服务。张博士毕业于香港科技大学（经济学博士），加入普华永道之前曾任职于北京大学新结构经济学研究院著名经济学家林毅夫教授团队、工业和信息化部直属的中国电子信息产业发展研究院（赛迪研究院）、美国哥伦比亚大学商学院著名经济学家魏尚进教授团队和美国密歇根大学等高端学术和智库机构。
